Citrus Connection, especially the East County routes, is not listed on Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Transit apps, making trip planning difficult. The only online option is the Citrus Connection website, which doesn't list each stop. Most transit agencies, like Lynx and SunRail, are on these services. Adding Citrus Connection would improve accessibility and planning for users.

The 20X route is the only route that serves Highway 27 in Davenport, but the limited number of stops makes it hard to access. The lack of sidewalks and the harsh climate further complicate this. Increasing the number of stops and improving sidewalk infrastructure is essential to making public transit more accessible for residents.

It appears that Polk County's public transit system is significantly lacking in providing comprehensive service. Unlike neighboring systems, Polk County does not have extensive operating hours and lacks Sunday service across its network. For example, while LYNX in Orlando operates from 5 AM to 12 AM and provides services throughout the week, Polk County's Citrus Connection does not offer the same level of accessibility. This gap in service particularly affects those who rely on public transit and work in essential sectors with non-traditional hours, making it challenging for them to commute effectively. Extending service hours and including Sunday operations would greatly benefit the community, aligning Polk County's transit system with those of neighboring regions.

CR 546 between 27 and Kokomo/17 needs widened as well as Kokomo/17 between CR 547 and 544. There's a lot of traffic, especially commercial traffic due to new communities and expanding warehousing/distribution centers on Kokomo/17.

Lights on 27 need to be better synced to prevent traffic issues. For example, new light at 27 and Holly Hill Cut Off road backs up and causes issues at Sanders, all the way back to Bates Road in the mornings

The road doesn't need resurfacing. It needs more lanes! It is getting to the point where you can spend 30+ minutes going from 17/92 interchange to Posner Park because of the traffic volume.

5 months 3 weeks agoEntrance needs to be widened as those leaving the park doesn't know how to stay in their own lane, making entering the park a little dangerous + I noticed no one drives 5 MPH along that stretch. That spot needs to be widened to fit vehicles in both lanes as also might as well add another lane so you got it as: | Right turn lane | Left turn lane | Entrance | and boost the speed to a reasonable 10 MPH with a speed cam so if anyone that's now law/fire/rescue decides to drive fast into the park, then he/she will get a ticket in the mail for speeding carelessly. Though it doesn't happen much, I still have been avoiding the park lately because not much knows how to drive right in that park & that includes those that drives the "City of Lakeland" trucks. Slow down & share the road inside the park, ESPECIALLY those with the "City of Lakeland" signs/stickers/magnets that's visibly posted on the side of those trucks.

5 months 3 weeks agoI've seen those signs on North Florida Avenue & South Florida Avenue in downtown Lakeland that has those railroad signs. That type of signage is needed BADLY for Kathleen road because when the train come to load/unload their cargo or whatever he/she/they're doing there, makes this a parking lot for up to 15 minutes & this isn't good, especially if Law/fire/rescue needs to use that stretch to get to anywhere without having to wait with traffic because the train is out of the way but the gate is still down for up to 15 minutes. That or close this part of New Kathleen & reconnect it with Spivy road to where everyone can avoid that train traffic altogether. This might be why there's a new fire department over by the Kathleen area of Kathleen Road though now all they need is a sheriff department where the Deeson Road Circle K is across the street at.

5 months 3 weeks agoGalloway from Swindle to Frontage road is just flat out a multiple dangerous intersections on all 4 intersections. The Swindle Road on the flea market side of Galloway is especially dangerous because the semis forces themselves out onto Galloway Road and I've heard too many close calls from there & especially had one myself despite I had the legal right of way. They decide to wait until you're close by and then pull out in front of you as if those going southbound on Galloway were never coming while we have to lock up our brakes to prevent hitting them at legal speed because they wait until the last moment to decide to pull out. That or take down that bridge so if the Semi's need to use that road then they can get on it either from US 92W or from the 10th Street side. Fix that and the other 3 intersections south of it might be a bit safer.

5 months 3 weeks agoSimple but urgent idea, PLEASE make the left lane a left turn lane to those that is leaving the plaza while the right lane is being used as a straight & right turn lane instead of the left lane having the straight lane. This is an accident waiting to happen. The same for the Duff Road side of the street. It's already 2 lanes there so make that left lane for strictly left turn & the right lane for the straight & right turn as it's just dangerous to go straight on either side when the other side are usually too lazy to use the left turn signal, therefore making that intersection a dangerous intersection due to the drivers laziness. It should had never been a shared left/straight lane in the first place.

THANK YOU for getting this taken care of. (Slow driver = I drive 5 MPH over the posted limit and I still get drivers passing me. I was kind of hoping to have some kind of patrol station out here (Sheriff or Florida Highway Patrol) but the road widening is a better & possibly cheaper idea. Hopefully there'll be some kind of idea at the intersection of 98N & 471 to make it easier & safer for the truckers & anyone else that's coming to/from Sumter county as also those coming from Polk & Pasco. Thanks again for working on this road to get it widened. It's been very much needed.

Beside, those going northbound in the Wal-Mart parking lot seems to cut the turn so anyone going eastbound cant turn right until the lane hoarder has completed his/her turn around that corner that can EASILY fit 2 vehicles around that turn at the same time.

Either a stop cam is needed (if 1 exist) for those that doesn't know how to stop safely at the light until the light turns green or take down the street signal and turn it into a round-a-bout but make it wider than what Galloway/Sleepy Hill has for incase Duff Road ever get widened to 2 lanes per side, then at least you've already got the round-a-bout at the size it would need to be for the road widening.

5 months 3 weeks agoPolk & Osceola county needs to think of something to solve the traffic issue along I-4 as every time I drive towards Davenport or eastward, there's always traffic going eastbound 2-3 miles before approaching the Davenport exit so if I want to go to places like Old Town (Kissimmee) or IKEA (Millenia/Orlando), I end up getting off at Davenport to go north on 27 before turning east on 192, which probably takes just as long but at least I got plenty of stops to choose from to use the rest room if needed instead of being stuck in traffic that's almost as thick as Mc Donald's milkshake (if/when their machines are working). I would say add 2 more lanes but I bet that would be just as bad of an idea. Then again, if it seems to work along I-95 area between Daytona to Miami, then it might just work along this area but I think Tampa & Orlando has that express lane that'll be going along in the center lane so that idea might be too late due to future I-4 express lanes coming in the possible near future. I just don't want I-4 Polk/Osceola to become the next I-5 California. Then again, hopefully we'll get some smart lanes like I-24 Tennessee has so if there's ever an accident or if there's ever a speed reduction up ahead, we'll know which lanes we can go on what speed because you'd have those smart lanes screens visible above each lanes letting us know if it'll be 60 MPH - 60 MPH - 60 MPH or something like X* - 50 MPH - 60 MPH? Thank you if you have any ideas on how to get this part of I-4 solved as I know a round-a-bout on the interstate is a dangerous idea as much as I love round-a-bouts. (X = Lane closed due to accident, construction in that lane, etc...)

As most Polk County lights, this needs to be prioritized for sensor, not timing. There's far more traffic coming from Pine Tree Tr than Ernie Caldwell and the timing loads up the turn lane on Pine Tree that backs up and stops all Pine Tree traffic constantly.

5 months 3 weeks agoUnpopular opinion but some kind of camera is needed for the left of the left turn lane because even though the right left lane is doing right by turning left, the left left lane has a few idiots that ignores the sign and makes a U-turn at the light to go from southbound to northbound while Malcum Road has the green light to make their right turn while trying to avoid US 98 from making their illegal U-Turn at the same time. They don't realize that not everyone wants to turn right onto US 98N to either go anywhere northbound or to make another right to get to the bank as the right green arrow to go from Malcum to 98N makes it easier for those that needs to get on Mann Road but they have to avoid those on 98N going southbound from making the illegal U-Turn, despite the sign saying no U-Turns. Camera or something is needed so any that makes a U-Turn on the left, left turn lane to go from southbound to northbound should get a ticket in the mail for his/her illegal U-Turns.

Pine Tree Trail is always backed because of this light and the turn signal for Ronald Reagan to make a left onto Pine Tree is often skipped every other rotation, creating a major delay and backup.
