The Lakeland Intermodal Center is a much needed project. We need a minimum of fixed route bus transit to Plant City and Tampa. Rural neighborhoods in Polk County need bus routes and bus stops near their homes to provide alternatives to driving cars.

This should be the number 1 project of priority in polk county if you want to improve roads and transportation! It takes 45 minutes to an hour longer to get past the HWY 27 exit on I-4. You would be wise to move this up from 2027, that’s a ridiculous amount of time to wait on the single worst part of driving in polk county! Please consider implementing the light systems they use in the Atlanta metro area if you can’t move this project up.

This area is the single largest issue with being a resident of this area. Many of us work for the entertainment/hospitality industry and have very few comparable alternative routes to use for our commute. Residents who can afford to move will begin to do so just to avoid this traffic.

Please make this project a priority. By the time 2027 comes around you’ll need to update the roads again anyway! This is the worst part of Polk county and with all the growth this needs to be a top priority or it’s only going to get worse…

Need to install a traffic light at the intersection of SR559 and Commonwealth Ave. in Polk City. The wait times to turn left from SR559 south onto Commonwealth Ave can be ridiculously long not to mention dangerous. A right turner completely blocks your view north.

438 Cart Ct 2 years 3 months agoPlease Please I pray you take this into consideration. Take a moment in look into the statistics of lives loss and amount of accidents that occur on this road. It's a danger zone. With the amount of new homes being built the volume of people is only increasing.

Please widen marigold asap! If can’t widen it because of funds add turn lanes in all areas that require a left or right turn! This will help the accidents from drivers not paying attention as well as drivers illegally passing.

The Lakeland Intermodal Center is a much needed project. We need a minimum of fixed route bus transit to Plant City and Tampa. Rural neighborhoods in Polk County need bus routes and bus stops near their homes to provide alternatives to driving cars.

2 years 3 months agoI pass through this intersection every day on the way to work and I think this would be a great place for a roundabout. The intersection of N parkway frontage Rd with Waring should also be turned into a roundabout turning the whole thing into a dumbbell interchange

2 years 3 months agoThis should be the number 1 project of priority in polk county if you want to improve roads and transportation! It takes 45 minutes to an hour longer to get past the HWY 27 exit on I-4. You would be wise to move this up from 2027, that’s a ridiculous amount of time to wait on the single worst part of driving in polk county! Please consider implementing the light systems they use in the Atlanta metro area if you can’t move this project up.

Bella Citta Blvd 2 years 3 months agoWith the new Publix (and more retail coming) and new school at Hwy 27 and Bella Citta/Four Corners Blvd, the traffic signals and turn lanes need to be updated to have new dedicated turn lanes and straight-through lanes to cross Hwy 27.

4461 Maple Chase Trl 2 years 3 months agoComplete sidewalks in the Poinciana community. Kids do not have a safe space to walk, ride bicycles. Exercise. There is only grass which cars and four wheelers ride through. There should be a designated area for walking safely on such busy roads.

2 years 3 months agoThis area is the single largest issue with being a resident of this area. Many of us work for the entertainment/hospitality industry and have very few comparable alternative routes to use for our commute. Residents who can afford to move will begin to do so just to avoid this traffic.

1199 Hickory Hammock Rd 2 years 3 months agoFunding for TNR Widening Phase 2 must be funded for the design ASAP. Congestion in this corridor and the intersection at TNR and US27 are already out of control and a safety concern before thousands of new homes in the area are even constructed. Please start the Phase 2 design in 2022 to get this project off the shelf to alleviate the bottlenecks before Phase 1 is completed.

47455 US Highway 27 N 2 years 3 months agoWhen will we get a light here at 27 and Barry Road so we can get onto 27 in the mornings due to school traffic going off and on 27 and Barry? Almost impossible to turn right onto 27, turn lane fron 27 to Barry blocks view of oncoming 27 traffic. I was involved in a cat accident on Barry trying to turn right, guy that hit me from behind was wanting to shoot across 3 lanes of 27 to u-turn to go the opposite way on 27.

2 years 3 months agoNeed to install a traffic light at the intersection of SR559 and Commonwealth Ave. in Polk City. The wait times to turn left from SR559 south onto Commonwealth Ave can be ridiculously long not to mention dangerous. A right turner completely blocks your view north.

40 W Orange St 2 years 3 months agoLiving in the Four Corners area of Davenport, we are seeing a vast increase in housing and retail construction. We’re losing more orange groves and wildlife areas. One - it is creating unbelievable traffic issues. Rt 27 is becoming little Kissimmee. It’s discouraging to living in this once beautiful area. Traffic jams on Rt 27, I4, US1792, etc. Two - there is little to no mass transit available to people who drive or don’t have drivers licenses. We need bus services to retail outlets and job sites. We need to increase and create safe, well lit, visible stops for buses into Kissimmee, Celebration, Poinciana, Winter Haven, and Lakeland. Where is our train services? Why has that NOT been looked into? We need a railway more than we require an increase in retail stores, over-priced apartments, condos, townhouses, home developments. Three - where is there any consideration to our local wildlife. With all the construction in our area, Polk County through Osceola County, local wildlife is left with no where to go. We’ve had more frequent sightings of gators, bears, coyotes, wild pigs/boar, foxes, bobcats, deer, and even rats. What are we doing for these animals? We’re taking away their refuge, so there has been an increase in sightings throughout our communities. It’s only a matter of time before someone is injured through a random meeting between resident and wildlife. We MUST consider all these factors. Limit construction. Build up mass transit. Find some way to help preserve our wildlife. Life in Davenport is not what it once was 20 years ago…. 5 years ago. It’s time to look into these situations and consider solutions. Our community is being forever changed by this construction.

Before developments are finalized traffic situation should be addressed. Roads need to be upgraded before housing developments approved.

429 Lake Ned Rd 2 years 3 months agoOn-ramps to I4 are obviously one of the biggest reasons for the insane traffic. Many don’t allow enough space for merging traffic. Biggest example is on-ramp from Osceola Polk Line to eastbound I4. I know it’s currently undergoing improvements. Hope they get rid of the chevrons and open up more room for merging. Traffic coming from World Drive is another example, a huge one. Lake Wilson can also use a second westbound lane. Ronald Reagan to Lee Jackson really needs a right turn lane. Alternative is to extend the green light another 30 seconds. Traffic gets very backed up after 4pm.

It has become dangerous for residents to access the highways due to the number of vehicles in addition to drivers who don't know or heed traffic right of way laws. Don't know if this belongs here, but the green arrow for a left onto Berkley Rd. from US-92 is far too quick, allowing only 2 or 3 cars to make that turn. Then another 3 or 4 min wait for the next cycle.
